During its regular meeting on October 18, 2023, the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy ("Board") considered the issue of whether vaccines appearing on the 2023 Addendum to the CDC-ACIP "Adult Immunization Schedule" ("2023 Addendum") are considered "included on the adult immunization schedule," as required by O.C.G.A. § 43-34-26.1(9)(A) for vaccine administration pursuant to a vaccine protocol agreement.

The Board determined that for the purpose of compliance with O.C.G.A. § 43-34-26.1(9)(A), the vaccines listed on the 2023 Addendum are to be considered included on the CDC-ACIP "Adult Immunization Schedule." 

The effect of this determination is that pharmacists, pursuant to an otherwise appropriate and valid vaccine protocol agreement, may administer those vaccinations listed in the 2023 Addendum as though they were included in the published CDC-ACIP "Adult Immunization Schedule."
